New Year's Group Activity -- Festivals of Light Escape Room
This is a group activity -- perfect for a homeschooling co-op party or New Year's gathering.
This New Year's activity revolves around New Year's festivals of light to celebrate diversity and learn about different cultures. Students will learn about Hanukkah, Las Posadas (Christmas in Mexico), and Kwanzaa while thinking critically, working as a team, and developing a growth mindset!
Your students will be thrilled to experience the excitement of an "Escape Room." They will need to use cooperation and perseverance to solve the clues and open the locked box, which will help them as individual learners as well as building your classroom community.
All clues are provided, along with an answer key and detailed explanation for each puzzle. This is geared toward students aged 10 to 14, although some younger students (8 or 9 years) would be likely be successful as well.
This Escape Room activity is designed for use with a lockable box, hasp, and 4 locks (letter lock, directional lock, 3-digit number lock, and 4-digit number lock). These items can be bought as part of a kit or individually.
